When does a couple become married?
Where is that invisible line in which one moment they are
single and the next moment they cross over and are married?
Cultures normally establish an event
threshold which couples must cross to achieve a duly recognized
marriage. It is the invisible line and when that line is
crossed, it is a done deal. You can't go back. And that line is when a
single man and a single woman stand before an official who declares they
are married.
